A native Kentuckian, I first studied there in the l970s under the tutelage of a professional portrait painter to include landscapes and still life. Through the years I took workshops with Robert Hoffman, Zoltan Szabo, Camille Przewodek, C. W. Mundy, Karen Vernon and Tony Couch. I have painted in Portugal, Spain, Germany, France, Mexico and throughout the United States.

Although I had a career as a civil servant at Fort Knox, Kentucky I managed to incorporate my art career in various degrees. In 1994 my move to Indiana allowed me to devote full time to my art career. I quickly became involved with great art organizations in Brown County, Fort Wayne, Indianapolis and Columbus. My first watercolor won the Memorial Award at the Fort Wayne Artist Guild and later accepted on my first attempt in The Hoosier Salon Annual Exhibit in Indianapolis.

Over the years my painting has evolved into a "looser" impressionistic style. Although I paint any subject, animals and landscapes are predominate. I paint in oil, acrylic and watercolor with an occasional pastel. I have an emotional connection with my subjects which I hope to convey in my work. Some of my favorite painters are Rembrandt, Singer-Sargent and Remington. I like modern day painters such as Kevin MacPherson, Richard Schmid and Marilyn Simandle.

Due to the unexpected death of my husband, I was forced to close my gallery in Brown County, IN and relocate to Elizabethtown, KY.  I quickly added a studio in order to pursue my art and subsequently became a member of the Central Kentucky Art Guild.

I have had one-woman shows at the Columbia Club, Indianapolis; The Hoosier Salon (Indianapolis and New Harmony); Brownsburg, Indiana, and The Brown County Art Gallery. I belong to the Brown County Art Gallery, Nashville, Indiana; The Hoosier Salon, Indianapolis; I am a signature member of the Watercolor Society of Indiana, Indianapolis; Indiana Heritage Arts, Nashville, Indiana; Indiana Plein Air Painters; Oil Painters of America and the Central Kentucky Art Guild. My juried shows are The Hoosier Salon, Watercolor Society of Indiana, Indiana Heritage Arts, Fort Wayne Art Guild, a finalist in the Artist's Magazine Annual Contest, Carmel International Arts Festival and numerous other art fairs with a number of awards to my credit.
